What is the PTA?

It is a Parent - Teacher organization that ......

• Supports funding for public education programs for children
• Works with respective council and PTA district
• Assists parents in developing the skills they need to nurture children
• Promotes parent and public involvement in schools

We ask all parents, family, friends and neighbors to join our PTA.  The PTA supports our students by providing funding for enrichment and field trips.  A membership is $8.50 and those classrooms that achieve 100% participation will receive a special reward.   

Association meetings are held monthly. Parents who want to become more involved in the PTA are welcome to participate.

How Are PTA Funds Spent?

In the past, our San Jose PTA:

• funded weekly YMCA psychomotor program
• provided buses and admission for field trips
• purchased equipment for an online intervention program
• provided after school snack shop to students
• offset the cost of attendance rewards and incentives
• sponsored fun events
• funded  student and staff appreciation activities
• helped needy students and families through food and toy drives
• sponsored 5th grade events and culmination
