Located in the heart of Mission Hills, San Jose Street School is proud of its reputation for excellence. One of our primary goals is to provide a rich environment with multiple pathways for learning.

Dear San Jose Families,

I am writing this letter to let you know that I will not be returning to San Jose as principal for the 2017-2018 school year. Last June, after school was out for the year, the local district superintendent, Vivian Ekchian asked me to take on a new administrative role as Coordinator of College Counseling.  I accepted the position and am now working to support schools in the mission to build a college going culture in elementary, middle and high schools across Local District Northwest.   I have taken on the challenge of increasing students access to post-secondary educational opportunities and their readiness for college and career.

I look forward to supporting      San Jose in a new capacity even though it means I must leave a wonderful school. I am very proud of the culture of collaboration and achievement that we have created together. I have truly enjoyed working with all the students and families and I know that I am leaving the school with strong systems in place for continued success. Catherine Estrada, the new principal, has expertise in programs that will benefit our school.  She is a well-respected educator and I am confident that with her leadership, the students will continue to thrive.

Please know that I feel honored to have served as your principal for the past ten years.  In my heart, will always remain a part of the San Jose community.
