Homework Club (2-5)

Our Library is open Monday - Thursday  for students in grades 2-5 to complete their homework.  Assistance is provided by our paraprofessional staff. Students who finish assignments will be excused to the afterschool playground.

Hours are:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 2:40-3:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday 1:40 - 2:30 p.m.

After School Programs

YPI afterschool program (K-5)

This grant-funded afterschool program is administered by Youth Policy Institute and operates free of charge for students in grades K - 5.

Students are grouped by grade level and participate in activities led by tutors. The program focuses on enrichment, recreation and homework help. 

The program runs each day from dismissal to 6:00 p.m. Participating students are expected to stay for the entire session and parents must sign out children upon "pick-up."

Junior Scholars (K-1)

Students in grades K & 1 may begin their homework with the assistance of our paraprofessional staff.    Students who are not picked up at dismissal are escorted by their teacher to the parent center in room 13.  Adults who pick up must be listed on the emergency card and show ID.

The program's hours are listed below:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday  2:29- 3:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday 1:29 - 2:30 p.m.

Students must be picked up promptly.

Youth Services Afterschool Playground (2-5)

The Beyond the Bell (BTB) Branch Youth Services Section program is open to all children in grades 2-5. Trained supervisors plan and conduct playground activities.  This free program operates from dismissal until  6:00 p.m.  Participants arrive and leave at their own discretion.

Students in first grade, kindergarten or earlier are not permitted to participate in the program.

Parents must sign an agreement for their child to participate. Students may lose the privilege of participating in the program at the discretion of site staff and with the approval of the site administrator.

 

The daily program may include various sport and game activities, including:

  • Flag Football
  • Volleyball
  • Table Games
  • Board Games
  • Intramural Tournaments
  • Drill Team
  • Arts and Crafts
